Criminal Justice

 Vera is a national organization that partners with impacted communities and government leaders for change. 

The Legal Aid Society advocates for individuals and families across a variety of civil, criminal defense, and juvenile rights matters.

We work to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone.

The Offices of the New York State Inspector General (“OIG”) seeks highly motivated, detailed-orientated college and graduate students who possess excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills to serve as Investigative Audit Interns.

Intelligence & National Security

Students have an opportunity to gain  experience in counterintelligence and insider threat, industrial security, personnel security, security training, and other DCSA core mission and support areas.

The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), is a non-profit whose mission is to transform global security by driving systemic solutions to nuclear and biological threats

I&A offers internships in the functional areas of Intelligence Analysis, Collections, Partnerships, and Management. I&A internships are located in Washington, D.C.

A SUMMER INTERNSHIP FOR HARD SECURITY PROBLEMS 

Competitively-selected interns from across the country work in teams of 2-4 interns (with guidance from faculty mentors and government topic champions) on real-world problems posed by government operators.

NYC Internships and Fellowships

The State Comptroller's office employs over 2,700 public servants statewide who are dedicated to ensuring taxpayer dollars are used effectively and for public good

The City Comptroller’s Office is committed to providing a wide range of learning and work opportunities to students with an interest in public service.

Urban Fellows are placed at an array of agencies across the City where they learn about public policy and work closely with leaders engaged in policy and operational work.

Interns apply to the department that interests them most, and, if selected, will work within that department for the duration of their internship.

The City of New York Summer Internship Program provides over 100 accessible summer intern job postings at City agencies to college students currently enrolled, graduating, and recent graduates.

The Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government and Public Affairs is CUNY’s university-wide hub for students who seek to build skills through experiential learning within the public sector of New York City, New York State and Washington, D.C..

DOI’s Internship Program offers hands-on experience to college students, law school students and graduate students.

The program will offer both undergraduate and graduate/law students a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in the fields of correction, criminal justice, mental health, public policy and administration, city government and management.

International Affairs

The Program provides graduate fellowships to qualified college seniors and college graduates committed to joining the Foreign Service

The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week summer program designed to provide undergraduate students with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs.

At CFR, interns participate in one of the foremost paid internship programs in the foreign policy arena. They do work that matters alongside smart and dedicated staff in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Every semester, the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs offers internships to exceptional students interested in government, international affairs, and communications.

The Clarke DS Fellowship is a two-year graduate fellowship program designed for individuals who want to pursue a master’s degree and a career as a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent in the Foreign Service. DSS Special Agents are sworn federal law enforcement officers.

Post-Graduate Fellowships

Immigrant Justice Corps seeks Fellows who are smart, compassionate, and passionate about justice for immigrants.

Urban Fellows are placed at an array of agencies across the City where they learn about public policy and work closely with leaders engaged in policy and operational work. A stipend is offered to fellows accepted into the program.

The Office of Justice Programs is the largest grantmaking component of the Department of Justice and houses the Department’s criminal and juvenile justice-related science, statistics, and programmatic agencies.
